DHAKA, April 1, 2025 – Mastodon Marketplace, an AI-driven
platform born from a humble car cleaning service, is rapidly changing the
landscape of automobile logistics in Bangladesh. Over the past two years,
fueled by strategic funding and technological advancements, the company has
evolved into a comprehensive digital hub connecting thousands of vehicle owners
with suppliers for parts, accessories, and services nationwide.
Founded in 2015 as 'Mastodon Wash' by Faridul Hasan Shuvo,
the company's trajectory shifted significantly after receiving a BDT 10 Lakh
grant from the government's iDEA project in 2020. This seed funding enabled
Mastodon to pivot towards its current mission: streamlining the complex
automotive supply chain.
Today, Mastodon Marketplace operates a sophisticated
platform extending beyond Dhaka to major cities like Rangpur, Sylhet, and
Chittagong. It serves as a vital link between over 5,000 registered suppliers
(wholesalers and retailers) and nearly 15,000 customers to date. Suppliers gain
a digital storefront to showcase products ranging from car care items and
lubricants to filters, wheels, and tools, while customers benefit from
transparent price and quality comparisons, often missing in traditional
markets.
"Our goal was to bridge the gap and bring convenience
and transparency to the automotive parts sector," stated a company
representative. "We connect users directly with the parts and services
they need."
Logistics are a cornerstone of Mastodon's model. Customers
can choose convenient home delivery, sometimes including installation by
platform-associated mechanics, or opt for local pickup from designated hubs.
Real-time order tracking via unique codes further enhances the customer
experience.
This focus on service and technology has translated into
significant traction. Mastodon reports annual revenues exceeding BDT 3 Crore
(30 million), with strong current monthly performance. This growth supports a
dedicated team of 21 employees.
The company's potential has attracted further support. In
2022, Mastodon secured a USD 150,000 credit grant from the Microsoft for
Startups Founders Hub for technological development on the Azure cloud
platform. Their participation in Microsoft's initiatives was also recognized
when they achieved "Runner-Up" status in the HyperScaleup program, as
evidenced by awards displayed at their premises.
With registrations in both Bangladesh and Delaware, USA,
Mastodon signals its international ambitions. The company is currently in talks
to secure over USD 250,000 in equity investment from issuing new shares,
highlighting growing investor confidence in its potential to disrupt the
burgeoning Bangladeshi automotive market, estimated to be worth $1.5 billion in
the near future. Mastodon Marketplace's journey showcases how innovation,
strategic funding, and a customer-centric approach can revolutionize a
traditional industry.
